Cleaning Inspection

NYCC - Corporate Property Management (Building Cleaning Services) sent their regional inspector to view the school this morning - his report grades our Caretaker / Cleaner Mandii Isles as A* (but we knew that already!).

School Meals

Last week, our school meals were rated 5 / 5 by Selby District Council on:- -

  • Hygiene
  • Structure
  • Cleaning
  • Confidence in Management.

The scores given are for compliance with The Food Safety & Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013.

Young Voices!

This year our KS2 pupils have the opportunity to experience Young Voices. On 19th January pupils and staff will attend the event, which is held at Sheffield Arena, and sing alongside the hundreds of other schools who will also be there. Mrs Warrington is excited about starting the singing practices which will lead up to the event.

Class 1 Visit to TESCOs, Goole

Early in the Autumn Term Class 1 took their learning outside the classroom by going on a visit to TESCOs in Goole. The children had been learning about fruit and vegetables in class as well as how to write lists. Our EYFS and Y1 pupils wrote their own shopping lists and used their knowledge of numbers to buy items under £1. Each child experienced paying at a till and receiving change. Pupils also had the opportunity to learn about and taste unusual fruit and vegetables. On returning to school pupils wrote recounts about what they learned.

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

On Friday 26th September we hosted a coffee afternoon to raise money for Macmillan. We would like to say a huge thank-you to everyone in the village who came to support the cause by baking, eating and donating. Together, we raised £164.27!
